The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramic closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. De Bruyne did well to prevent Ramic getting side control. De Bruyne has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ramic is on him like a limpet, forcing De Bruyne back against the cage. Ramic turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ramic manages to end up in side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ramic tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ramic has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ramic is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but De Bruyne is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Ramic is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. De Bruyne knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ramic tries for a kimura but De Bruyne is defending well. Ramic has worked his way into a potential kimura here. De Bruyne is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Ramic yanks on the arm and De Bruyne is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Ramic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tarik Ramic!
