Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ragnar Diaz (ranked 2514 p4p, 271 weight class) and Max Paddy (ranked 3632 p4p, 364 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ragnar Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Paddy!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paddy tries to clinch there but Diaz circles away.
Paddy misses with a head kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Diaz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Diaz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Diaz tries to get out of the position.
My spies in IC&E Academy inform me that Paddy has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Paddy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Diaz fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Diaz throws a hook to the side of Paddy's head but Paddy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Paddy fails with an attempt to clinch.
A counter left hand to the body from Diaz misses its target.

And Paddy tries to counter it with a takedown but Diaz pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Paddy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Paddy blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Paddy tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Diaz avoids it.

Paddy drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Diaz gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Diaz lands with a short shot to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A short right hand to the side of the head by Diaz.
Diaz is pressed up against the cage. Paddy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Diaz down to the mat. Diaz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ragnar Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Paddy.

Diaz closes the distance and clinches.
Diaz throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Paddys head.

Diaz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Diaz lands a nice shot to the body.

Paddy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Diaz wants to get back to his feet.

Paddy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Diaz keeping hold of Paddy's head, controlling as best he can.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paddy prevents Diaz from standing back up.
Paddy throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Paddy wants to pass to mount but Diaz is defending the position.
Diaz tries to roll over but Paddy keeps him under control.
Paddy passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Diaz!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Paddy looking to control but Diaz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ragnar Diaz dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Paddy on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Diaz moves out of range as Paddy throws a body kick.
Diaz misses the jab.
Paddy tries to clinch there but Diaz circles away.
Diaz appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Paddy misses with a punch on the inside.

Paddy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Diaz pinned against the cage. Diaz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Paddy has a takedown stuffed.
Paddy shoots for a takedown but Diaz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Diaz on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Diaz drops Paddy with a beautiful combination! Paddy stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Diaz is looking for the KO!


Paddy is rocked!


It looks like Max Paddy has been cut.

Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Paddy is still on wobbly legs! Can Diaz finish him?

Diaz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Paddy is holding his hands too far apart here. Diaz throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Paddy is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ragnar Diaz!
In his post fight interview, Ragnar Diaz gave a big smile as he said 'Thank you all for coming out and watching, hats off to my opponent. I want one more fight before the end of the year while James "Neon" Richards takes care of business then let's dance bro Champ Vs Champ whatcha think bro?'.
