Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Speka Mitrikis (ranked 5480 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tarik Ramic (ranked 5620 p4p, 623 weight class). Tarik Ramic has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Speka Mitrikis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Speka Mitrikis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tarik Ramic!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitrikis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ramic did well to prevent Mitrikis getting side control.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ramic throws a looping overhand right but Mitrikis ducks down to avoid it.

Ramic wants to get back to his feet but Mitrikis drags him back down.

Mitrikis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ramic for as long as he can get away with.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ramic loads up on a big right hand but Mitrikis slips the punch.
Ramic throws a sloppy head kick and Mitrikis moves out of range easily.
Ramic throws an overhand right that lands on Mitrikis's shoulder, as Mitrikis tries to avoid the shot.
A jab lands there for Ramic.
Ramic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ramic throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramic wanted to stand there but Mitrikis had control of the position.

Ramic has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mitrikis is proving hard to escape from.

Ramic stands and steps away. Mitrikis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ramic enables Mitrikis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ramic manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mitrikis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Speka Mitrikis dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Mitrikis goes for a double leg but Ramic avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ramic continues to drive forward.

Mitrikis has Ramic pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ramic manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ramic throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mitrikis on the side of the head.

Ramic looks to throw the jab but Mitrikis is out of range.
Mitrikis tries to counter by clinching up but Ramic breaks away and moves out of range.
Ramic might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Mitrikis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ramic connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mitrikis scrambles back to his feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tarik Ramic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mitrikis takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Oh Mitrikis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Nice takedown defense from Ramic. No joy for Mitrikis on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Speka Mitrikis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
