Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Master Splinter (ranked 6912 p4p, 604 weight class) and Dean Malenko (ranked 7128 p4p, 611 weight class). Splinter comes to the cage accompanied by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Theme Song. Malenko has chosen WCW NITRO ENTRANCE SONG as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Master Splinter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dean Malenko! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Splinter fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Malenko checks it well. Malenko drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Splinter defends it well. Jab, jab by Splinter - just one landing. Splinter is looking to slow Malenko down with leg kicks. Malenko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Splinter avoids it really well and circles away. Splinter slips under a jab from Malenko. Splinter was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Splinter works the jab nicely. Malenko with a poor takedown and Splinter makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Malenko really felt that one! Splinter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Malenko misses with a left hand and Malenko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Malenko misses with a hook. Splinter ducked under it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Malenko avoids a kick to the body.
Malenko drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Splinter defends it well. Splinter darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Splinter looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Malenko misses with a body shot
and Splinter counters with a solid body kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Good leg kick by Splinter there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That's one minute gone in the round. Splinter tries to sprawl but Malenko drives through with a takedown into half guard. Splinter is trying to control but can't.
Malenko is working for a kimura but Splinter is defending it quite comfortably.
Splinter wants to control but Malenko is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malenko wants to work for an arm triangle but Splinter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Malenko works his foot free and advances to mount. Malenko is working for a guillotine from mount but Splinter frees his head quite easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Splinter tries to lock up and control but Malenko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malenko is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Splinter has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Splinter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Malenko on the ground. Splinter is wriggling around trying to escape.
Splinter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Splinter tries to get out of the position. Malenko is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Splinter to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Splinter shrugs it off. Splinter tries to hold on but Malenko postures up. Splinter is wriggling around trying to escape.
Splinter is trying to stand up. Malenko jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Splinter manages to avoid the submission attempt. Malenko wants to control but Splinter is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Splinter tries to buck Malenko off but Malenko is having none of it. Splinter is working hard here to advance position. Malenko tries for a kimura but Splinter is defending well. Malenko is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Splinter is trying to escape and Malenko transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Splinter is forced to tap! Nice work there by Malenko! Very nice indeed!
