Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ichabod Crane (ranked 2835 p4p, 46 weight class) and Flavio Nascimento (ranked 2505 p4p, 80 weight class). Crane comes into the arena with Love Inc!-Broken Bones! blaring out of the sound system. Flavio Nascimento has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ichabod Crane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Flavio Nascimento! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from Nascimento. Nascimento throws a head kick but Crane moves out of range.

Crane looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Nascimento misses with a head kick.
Crane throws a good cross that connects.
Nascimento throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nascimento misses with a head kick.
Nascimento throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Crane swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nascimento misses with a double jab
and Crane counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Crane. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crane looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crane trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Crane drops back looking for a leg! Nascimento is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nascimento manages to kick Crane off! Crane jumps back into Nascimento's guard. Crane passes Nascimento's left leg - he's now in half guard. Crane is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Nascimento keeping moving, preventing Crane from controlling successfully. Crane looking to pass the guard. Nascimento looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Crane pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nascimento is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crane controlling from the top position. Nascimento really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Crane wants to pass the guard but Nascimento is keeping the position. That's three minutes gone in the round. Crane won't allow Nascimento to sweep him here. Crane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nascimento swivels though and keeps the full guard. Crane trying to control the position from guard on top but Nascimento is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Flavio Nascimento seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nascimento throws a head kick that misses and Crane counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Crane wants to free his trapped foot but Nascimento is holding on for dear life with his legs. Crane is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Nascimento is trying to maintain the position but Crane is very close to passing his half guard. Nascimento won't allow Crane to pass to mount. Ground and pound from Crane. Crane wants to pass to mount but Nascimento is defending the position. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nascimento defends it well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nascimento is squirming around, avoiding Crane's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ichabod Crane dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Crane paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Nascimento misses with an attempted mid kick.
Crane tries to counter with a takedown but Nascimento is quick to defend against it. Nascimento throws a jab when Crane was well out of range. Nascimento fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Crane, pushing him back against the cage. Crane taking a breather. Crane has a couple of punches blocked by Nascimento.
A left hand lands to the body for Nascimento.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nascimento misses with the head strike.
Nascimento lands with a light punch inside. Crane working aggressively here.
Crane manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Nascimento trying to control but Crane is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nascimento tries to stand but Crane is controlling from the bottom. Crane looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Crane is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Nascimento wants to control from the top but Crane keeps moving. Crane lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Crane slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Crane tries to advance to mount but can't. You can see the frustration on Nascimento's face as Crane controls the position. Crane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nascimento can do to turn this around? Crane advances nicely into full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crane breaks from Nascimento's wrist control and lands an elbow. Crane scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Nascimento?
Crane landing punches. Crane has hold of Nascimento's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nascimento manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
BOOM! Crane connects with a massive shot to the dome!
This has been an exciting period of action! Nascimento is squirming around, avoiding Crane's attempts to control the action. Crane looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Crane raining down shots from the mount! Crane tries to control but Nascimento wriggling away. Crane with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Nascimento is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crane is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nascimento can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Crane lands with some strikes. Nascimento bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Crane looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Nascimento controls from within his opponent's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Crane holds on and takes a little breather. Crane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nascimento is one step ahead there. Crane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Crane is working hard here to advance position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crane has his hands on Nascimento's head, controlling the position. Crane manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nascimento manages to get himself to full guard.
