Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ken Snider (ranked 7994 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Dookes (ranked 5925 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Snider!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Franklin Dookes!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dookes fails with a takedown attempt.
Dookes clobbers Snider with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Ken Snider has been cut.
Snider shoots in for a takedown but Dookes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Good exchange - Dookes coming out on top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snider wants to clinch.
Dookes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Snider is fending him off so far but Dookes persists. Nope, Snider circles away and we're back to standing.

Snider throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Dookes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Snider sprawls well. Snider wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dookes gets slowly back to his feet.

Dookes dives in for a single leg takedown but Snider sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Dookes jumps guard and drags Snider to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dookes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Snider is in close to Dookes's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Dookes has his feet on Snider's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Dookes looks for a takedown but Snider sprawls well.
A little feinted left hand from Snider on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Snider changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dookes tries to avoid it but Snider manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dookes to the ground. Dookes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Snider throws a lazy right hand but Dookes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Snider is looking to clinch but Dookes is avoiding it.

Snider closes the distance and clinches.
Dookes blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Snider tries to pull guard but Dookes won't allow it.

Dookes drags the fight down to the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Snider accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dookes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Ken Snider will probably get the nod.

Snider defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dookes.
Dookes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Snider defends well and Dookes ends up having to push Snider into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Dookes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snider swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Snider leaves Dookes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Snider slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Horrible takedown attempt by Dookes or perhaps it was just good defense by Snider, which made it look bad.

Dookes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Snider avoids it really well and circles away.

Snider jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dookes walks away with a smile on his face. Snider gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Snider shoots in looking for a takedown but Dookes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Snider's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Dookes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Snider sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dookes somewhat.
Dookes shoots in looking for a takedown. Snider tries to sprawl out of it but Dookes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Snider manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Snider wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Ken Snider is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Snider throws a right hand that Dookes ducks under and follows up with a left that Dookes also avoids with ease.

and Snider counters with a series of strikes. Dookes will be more careful next time no doubt.

Snider is trying to pull guard but Dookes has him pressed against the cage.
Snider has a couple of punches blocked by Dookes.

Dookes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice straight punches there by Snider. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Snider.

Snider has Dookes pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dookes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Dookes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Snider is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dookes, into his guard.

Franklin Dookes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ken Snider is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Snider could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dookes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Snider can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ken Snider showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Snider, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
