Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ken Snider (ranked 7994 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Dookes (ranked 5925 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Snider! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Franklin Dookes! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dookes fails with a takedown attempt. Dookes clobbers Snider with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Ken Snider has been cut. Snider shoots in for a takedown but Dookes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Good exchange - Dookes coming out on top. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snider wants to clinch. Dookes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Snider is fending him off so far but Dookes persists. Nope, Snider circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snider throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Snider misses the shot to the body. Dookes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Snider sprawls well. Snider wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dookes gets slowly back to his feet. Ken Snider has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Dookes. Nice sprawl there from Snider as Dookes shoots in. Snider tries to counter by clinching up but Dookes breaks away and moves out of range. Snider tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dookes is able to avoid easily. Dookes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Snider counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Snider shoots in but no luck this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dookes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Dookes stalling against the cage.
Dookes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dookes dives in for a single leg takedown but Snider sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Dookes fails with a takedown attempt. Snider lands a jab-cross combination. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The fight moves into the clinch position. Dookes jumps guard and drags Snider to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Dookes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Snider is in close to Dookes's body, working some short punches and elbows. Snider landing some decent shots from guard. Dookes has his feet on Snider's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Dookes looks for a takedown but Snider sprawls well. A little feinted left hand from Snider on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Snider changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dookes tries to avoid it but Snider manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dookes to the ground. Dookes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Snider throws a lazy right hand but Dookes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Snider is looking to clinch but Dookes is avoiding it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Snider closes the distance and clinches. Dookes blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Snider with a nice head shot there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Snider accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Snider landing with the ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dookes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ken Snider will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ken Snider's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Snider defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dookes. Dookes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Snider defends well and Dookes ends up having to push Snider into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dookes. Ken Snider has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Dookes. Snider pivots, looking for a leg kick but Dookes is out of range and Snider settles back down. Dookes is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Dookes shoots and misses and Snider counters with a nice uppercut. Snider is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dookes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dookes has taken the fight to the clinch.
Snider gets control of Dookes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Snider will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Snider is trying to control the position but Dookes postures up. Dookes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snider swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snider looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Snider keeping full guard, as Dookes tries to pass. Dookes controlling from the top position. Snider working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dookes. Dookes controlling from the top position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Snider leaves Dookes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Snider closes the distance and lands a one-two. Snider slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Dookes has his takedown stuffed and Snider counters with a three punch combo that has Dookes backing up. Dookes nods at Snider to acknowledge the strikes. Dookes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Snider drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dookes pulls his leg out and moves away.

Dookes pushes Snider against the cage but Snider circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dookes is breathing heavily. Horrible takedown attempt by Dookes or perhaps it was just good defense by Snider, which made it look bad. Snider fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dookes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Snider avoids it really well and circles away. Dookes has his takedown stuffed and Snider counters with a one-two to the body. Snider scores with a jab.

Snider gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Snider is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dookes can do to turn this around? Dookes misses with a takedown and Snider counters with a left and a right that stings Dookes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Snider shoots in looking for a takedown but Dookes manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Snider's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Snider tries to clinch up but Dookes circles away and keeps his distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Snider dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Ken Snider's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Dookes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Snider sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dookes somewhat. Dookes shoots in looking for a takedown. Snider tries to sprawl out of it but Dookes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Snider manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Snider wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Ken Snider is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Snider throws a right hand that Dookes ducks under and follows up with a left that Dookes also avoids with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dookes gets caught napping as Snider dives in and scores a takedown. Dookes manages to retain guard. Dookes pushes Snider off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Snider stuffs the takedown attempt from Dookes. Dookes gets slowly back to his feet. An attempted straight right counter from Snider misses the target. Ken Snider has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Dookes. Dookes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Snider throws a nice looking combination but Dookes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Dookes darts in looking for a takedown but Snider gets double underhooks and turns Dookes into the cage. Snider tries to counter by clinching up but Dookes breaks away and moves out of range. Snider keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Some wild striking there from Snider.

Snider throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dookes. Snider looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dookes with a lazy takedown attempt and Snider moves into the clinch. Dookes has picked Snider up - he's going for a ride! Dookes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Snider kicks Dookes off and gets back to his feet. Snider throws a series of strikes that have Dookes backpedaling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Snider lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Franklin Dookes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A head kick by Dookes misses and Snider counters with a series of strikes. Dookes will be more careful next time no doubt. Snider moves into the clinch successfully.

Dookes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice straight punches there by Snider. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Snider. Dookes clinches up against the cage. Snider has Dookes pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dookes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Snider manages to pull guard.
Dookes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Snider is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dookes, into his guard.
Franklin Dookes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ken Snider is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Snider could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Dookes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Snider can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Ken Snider showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Snider, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
