Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Wilson (ranked 2860 p4p, 301 weight class) and Maksymilian Gracie (ranked 1762 p4p, 194 weight class). Gracie has chosen King of Leon - Closer as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Maksymilian Gracie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie blocks the body kick.
Wilson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Wilson throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.

Gracie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Wilson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Wilson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gracie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wilson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard.

Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gracie is looking to stall here but Wilson recovers full guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Wilson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wilson manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Wilson's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wilson has his foot on Gracie's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gracie works his way back into a safe position though.

Wilson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gracie defends well.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gracie is staying tight to Wilson's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Gracie has an Americana. Wilson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gracie is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gracie hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
