Mazzini's entrance music is Fade To Black. A fine choice. Lecter has chosen The Hannibal Lecter Sonr as his entrance music. Vito Mazzini has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vito Mazzini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hannibal Lecter!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lecter scores with a sloppy right hand. Mazzini should have avoided that one.
Mazzini throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lecter throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Mazzini counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Mazzini throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mazzini slips under a jab from Lecter.
Hannibal Lecter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lecter moves out of range as Mazzini strikes.
We've been hearing reports that Mazzini has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mazzini walks into a straight right hand from Lecter.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mazzini drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lecter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mazzini has Lecter in his guard.


Mazzini has his foot on Lecter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lecter works his way back into a safe position though.

Mazzini is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lecter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Oh Mazzini is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lecter drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Lecter seems to have locked his on tight now - Mazzini screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Lecter, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Hannibal Lecter!
Hannibal Lecter really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Fanatic Inc. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
