Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rio Brazil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kendo Hirigushi! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brazil takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Brazil misses with a takedown attempt - Hirigushi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hirigushi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Hirigushi connects with a looping right hand.
Brazil shoots and misses and Hirigushi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Brazil has been working on his boxing with his coaches at 10th planet rio in the buildup to the fight. Brazil looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Hirigushi pushes Brazil off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hirigushi lands a really nice looking cross but Brazil seems unphased.
Brazil is rocked! Brazil has his takedown stuffed and Brazil takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Oh Brazil is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rio Brazil. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brazil misses with a takedown and Hirigushi counters with a nice right hand that sends Brazil toppling to the canvas! Brazil scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hirigushi finish him?! Hirigushi pounces like a tiger and cracks Brazil with a vicious hook! Brazil is down but not out! Hirigushi follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Kendo Hirigushi! Kendo Hirigushi bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
