Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardinho Vieira (ranked 1817 p4p, 239 weight class) and Taz McKane (ranked 2332 p4p, 303 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardinho Vieira! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taz McKane! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vieira tries to clinch but McKane is having none of it. Ricardinho Vieira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vieira throws a head kick but McKane moves out of range.
McKane appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Vieira seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. McKane swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Vieira. Vieira darts in trying to clinch and McKane connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. McKane bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Vieira's head backwards. Vieira moves forwards but McKane connects with a nice, crisp jab. Good shot there by McKane. The fighters circle momentarily. McKane darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. McKane scores with a sloppy right hand. Vieira should have avoided that one. McKane throws a shot to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vieira throws the kick towards the body but McKane avoids it. McKane slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Vieira swings away with a body shot that misses
and McKane counters with a straight right hand. McKane throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Decent striking displayed by McKane there.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKane ducks down and throws a hook to the body. McKane moves away from the strike by Vieira. McKane looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. McKane ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. McKane with a hook. McKane lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Vieira at a distance.
McKane has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Vieira on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
McKane scores with a hook. McKane stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. McKane paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Vieira takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vieira shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McKane napping and manages to drive through into side control! Vieira prevents McKane from escaping the position. Vieira is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McKane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Vieira tries for a kimura but McKane is defending well. McKane is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vieira cracks McKane with a big elbow. McKane wants to get back to his feet. Vieira is trying to get an arm triangle but McKane is defending well. McKane wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! McKane stops Vieira from passing to mount. Vieira prevents McKane from escaping the position. Vieira advances to mount. McKane wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
McKane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vieira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vieira wants to finish this one by submission but McKane is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vieira. McKane tries to buck Vieira off but he can't manage it. Vieira with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
McKane is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Vieira looking for a guillotine from mount but McKane is having none of it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Vieira working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Vieira won't let McKane get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Vieira has control of McKane's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and McKane regains control of the situation pretty easily.
McKane is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Vieira is going oldschool here, as he tries to force McKane to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so McKane shrugs it off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McKane squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
McKane prevents Vieira from taking his back. Vieira wants to finish this one by submission but McKane is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vieira. Vieira wants to take his opponent's back but McKane doesn't allow it. McKane is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Vieira looking to control but McKane is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. McKane is trying to stand up. McKane is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Taz McKane dominated that round. That's time! Vieira's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Vieira misses with a shot to the body and McKane counters with a stiff right hand. Vieira fails with the takedown and McKane counters with a nice uppercut. McKane throws a shot to the body.
A cross from McKane lands. McKane misses with a looping left. McKane looks to land a right hand but Vieira moved out of range. Vieira fails with the takedown enabling McKane to counter with a crisp jab. Taz McKane seems to be getting the better of the standup. McKane swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Vieira. Vieira has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McKane finds it's way round the side to connect with Vieira's head. A head kick misses from Vieira. Vieira looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vieira takes a jab right on the kisser.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for McKane. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Vieira closes the distance and clinches up with McKane, looking for a takedown. Vieira pushes McKane against the cage but McKane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. And an attempted straight right on the counter from McKane! But no joy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardinho Vieira. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vieira throws a sloppy head kick and McKane counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKane moves into range and connects with a jab. McKane moves into range and connects with a jab. A cross from McKane lands. Vieira throws a jab but it's blocked by McKane. McKane might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Vieira throws a sloppy head kick and McKane makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. McKane scores with a jab to the jaw. Vieira takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Vieira tries for a takedown but McKane circles away easily enabling McKane to counter with a crisp jab.
Vieira is rocked! McKane fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Vieira on the side of the head. Oh Vieira is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Vieira looks to throw a body kick and McKane counters with a left to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice body punch from McKane. Vieira seems to have got his legs back now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Vieira gets cracked with a nice right hand there by McKane. Vieira fails with the takedown and McKane connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vieira gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! McKane gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Vieira is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Taz McKane! Taz McKane is the new welterweight champion! Our winner, Taz McKane, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
