Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Chugman (ranked 130 p4p, 21 weight class) and Tommy Walcott (ranked 777 p4p, 98 weight class). Tommy Walcott told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Walcott! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chugman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Chugman with a poor takedown and Walcott counters with a lovely shot to the body. Chugman throws a sloppy body shot
and Walcott counters with a straight right hand. Walcott lands a glancing blow to the side of Chugman's head. Walcott with a body punch. A glancing blow. Some wild striking there from Walcott.

Walcott lands a nice looking kick to the body. Chugman takes a step back to recover. Chugman thows a leg kick but Walcott checks it and Walcott counters with a nice uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Walcott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Chugman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Walcott's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chugman wants to control from the top but Walcott keeps moving. Chugman wants to pass the guard but Walcott is keeping the position. Walcott keeping moving, preventing Chugman from controlling successfully. Chugman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Chugman trying to control but Walcott is working from the bottom. Walcott is pulling down on Chugman's head to control his posture. Chugman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Walcott controls Chugman momentarily but Chugman frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Chugman being controlled here momentarily. Walcott looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chugman trying to control but Walcott is working from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Walcott lands a head kick!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Chugman. Chugman tries to advance to mount but Walcott denies him. Chugman is trying to get an arm triangle but Walcott is defending well. Walcott tries to bench press Chugman off him but Chugman keeps the position.

We've been hearing good reports from Chugman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chugman passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Walcott! Walcott sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Walcott is looking for a sweep. Chugman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Walcott is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chugman's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chugman's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chugman trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. A bit of a pause in the action here. Walcott controlling the positon. Walcott keeps control of the position as Chugman tries to break free.

Chugman rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Still in half guard, Walcott seems content to control. Chugman trying to hold on to Walcott's head to control him but Walcott postures up.
Walcott wants to take a breather but Chugman is having none of it. Walcott keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Walcott counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Klaus Chugman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walcott tries to sprawl but Chugman drives through with a takedown into half guard. Chugman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Walcott defends it well. Chugman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Walcott has managed to free his arm - good work. Walcott is looking for a sweep. Chugman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Walcott is still trying to improve position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chugman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Walcott defends it well. Chugman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Walcott manages to reverse the position and now he's in Chugman's guard. Nice work there by Walcott.
Walcott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chugman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Walcott has managed to get both his arms back between Chugman's legs - danger averted. Chugman keeping moving, preventing Walcott from controlling successfully. Walcott slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walcott lying in Chugman's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Chugman decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Walcott taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
