Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Davis (ranked 5786 p4p, 518 weight class) and Uesugi Kenshin (ranked 6534 p4p, 548 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Imperial March (L.O.D. Rage Mix). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Uesugi Kenshin! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Uesugi Kenshin has been cut. Davis tries to bum rush Kenshin with a series of wild strikes but Kenshin uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Davis clinches. Kenshin fails to pull guard.

Kenshin tries to pull guard but Davis forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jonathan Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uesugi Kenshin. Davis breaks from the clinch.
Davis slips under a jab. Davis fails in his attempt to clinch. Jonathan Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Davis gets in close and instigates a clinch. Davis breaks the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kenshin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Davis was well out of range. Poor timing from Kenshin. Davis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A little jabbing left from Kenshin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Jab, jab by Kenshin - just one landing.
It looks like Jonathan Davis has been cut. Davis wants to clinch. It seemed like Kenshin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis wants to clinch. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kenshin! But no joy. Davis lands a glancing blow to the side of Kenshin's head. Davis throws a series of punches but Kenshin avoids them all with ease. Kenshin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Davis under the eye. A jab from Kenshin misses. Davis tries to clinch there but Kenshin circles away.

Davis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kenshin scores with the left hand. Davis knows he should have avoided that one. Davis misses with a body shot.

Davis throws a body punch but Kenshin moves out of range. It seemed like Kenshin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Davis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kenshin, pushing him back against the cage. Kenshin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Davis smiles and moves away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Davis looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Davis moves in looking to clinch but Kenshin pushes him off. Davis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Davis swings for the body but Kenshin moves out of range.

Kenshin looks to land a combination but Davis avoids it well. The fight stays on the outside here - Davis looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kenshin is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Uesugi Kenshin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Davis misses with a wild combination.
Davis feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kenshins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Davis fails with an attempt to clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kenshin letting Davis take a breather here. Davis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Davis lands a glancing blow to the side of Kenshin's head. Kenshin throws a big shot that misses. Kenshin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Davis tries to close the distance and clinch but Kenshin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Davis tries to clinch but Kenshin moves out of range. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kenshin! But no joy. Decent striking displayed by Davis there. Davis wants to clinch up but Kenshin keeps it at a distance. Davis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kenshin jumps guard but Davis stands there with Kenshin around his waist. Kenshin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Davis is rocked! Kenshin cracks Davis with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Davis tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Kenshin pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Davis is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Uesugi Kenshin! In defeat, Jonathan Davis stepped up to the mic, saying 'He cheated! Check his gloves, they've got chloroform on them!'.
