Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Markus Watson (ranked 5898 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Diaz (ranked 5968 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Markus Watson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cain Diaz! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson takes one to the chin there. A slow jab from Diaz misses its intended target. Diaz lands a jab to Watson's midsection. Diaz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Diaz misses with a left hand and Watson counters with a single leg into guard. Diaz didn't expect that. Watson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Watson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Diaz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Watson stays in close to Diaz's body and controls the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Watson connects with a couple of short punches. Diaz looking for a sweep. Not yet Diaz, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson controls from within his opponent's guard. Diaz working for a triangle but Watson defends it easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Diaz can do anything to dispel that myth. Diaz thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Watson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Diaz will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Watson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Diaz tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Diaz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Watson content to stall in guard here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Watson defending well as Diaz loads up on a big left hand. A little feinted left hand from Watson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. A head kick from Diaz lands but Watson takes it in his stride. A telegraphed right hand from Diaz misses the target. Watson is looking for a counter combo. Diaz throws a jab when Watson was well out of range. Watson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Watson on the wrong end of a nice jab. A shot to the body from Diaz misses and Watson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Watson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Watson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Watson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Watson has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted. Diaz thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Watson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Diaz working for a triangle but Watson defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Diaz lands a good elbow from the bottom. Watson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Cain Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cain Diaz dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Diaz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Watson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Watson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Watson is rocked! Diaz has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Watson glances at the clock... BAM! Diaz nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Watson crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Watson is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
