Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drew Barron (ranked 4609 p4p, 538 weight class) and Niko Alzate (ranked 1786 p4p, 251 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alzate lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Barron throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Alzate on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Barron. Barron obviously looking to wear him down.
Barron throws a head kick that misses.
Alzate appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Alzate fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barron manages to avoid it.
Alzate pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Barron misses with a wild combination.
Barron thows a leg kick but Alzate checks it
and Alzate makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Barron looks to land a right hand but Alzate moved out of range.
Alzate avoids a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barron rushes Alzate and presses him up against the cage.

A nice right hand lands inside from Alzate.
We've been informed that Alzate has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Alzate connects with a good right hand that stumbles Barron. Barron circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Alzate walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Barron checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Barron fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alzate, pushing him back against the cage.
Barron blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Alzate throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Barron on the side of the head.

Barron throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Oh Barron is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alzate knocks out Barron with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Alzate before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Alzate picks up the big W with a huge KO!
