PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ayn Rand (ranked 8011 p4p, 663 weight class) and Crazy Boco (ranked 25001 p4p, 782 weight class). Boco has chosen Crazy Nights as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Crazy Boco will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boco misses with a takedown attempt - Rand sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rand fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Boco sprawls well initially but Rand persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rand is looking for a kimura here.
Rand is nestled in close to Boco, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Rand has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Rand has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Boco is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Boco is in all sorts of trouble here.
Rand is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Boco is forced to tap! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ayn Rand! A very excited looking Ayn Rand made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
