PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Callum Tweedie (ranked 5062 p4p, 488 weight class) and Max Debrine (ranked 5135 p4p, 496 weight class). Tweedie comes into the arena with Snow Patrol - Chocolate blaring out of the sound system. Debrine has chosen The Best as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Debrine!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tweedie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Debrine closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Tweedie struggles to land a body shot inside as Debrine controls his hands.
Tweedie looking to throw knees to the head but Debrine is blocking nicely.
Debrine is trying to drag Tweedie to the mat but Tweedie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Debrine pushes off an throws an elbow but Tweedie leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Callum Tweedie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Debrine.

Debrine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tweedie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tweedie.
Tweedie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Tweedie lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Debrine is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tweedie is defending well.

It looks like Callum Tweedie has been cut.

Tweedie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Debrine manages to get himself to full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Debrine accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Debrine ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Debrine no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Debrine seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Max Debrine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Debrine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
