Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Caniel Dormier (ranked 5139 p4p, 487 weight class) and Jerry Jacobs (ranked 6508 p4p, 549 weight class). Jerry Jacobs will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caniel Dormier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Jacobs! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs tries to clinch up but Dormier circles away and keeps his distance. Dormier shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jacobs sprawls well. Jacobs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dormier gets slowly back to his feet. Dormier closes the distance and clinches up with Jacobs, looking for a takedown. Dormier pushes Jacobs against the cage but Jacobs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dormier avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dormier looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Dormier pushing down on Jacobs's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Jacobs is trying to stand.
Dormier throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dormier is trying to control the action in half guard but Jacobs is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dormier is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Dormier has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jacobs throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dormier is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jacobs is trying to stand up here but Dormier is controlling him well. Dormier wants to take a breather but Jacobs is having none of it. Jacobs controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Dormier is trying to work for a kimura but Jacobs is defending well.
Jacobs blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dormier. Dormier in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Jacobs tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Dormier!
