Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abdul Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Carbone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Malik might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Soldier Side. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Abdul Malik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pedro Carbone! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carbone wants to clinch. Carbone goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Abdul Malik has been cut. Carbone misses with a jab, cross combination.
Carbone has Malik up against the cage in a clinch.
Malik tries a body shot but Carbone blocks it.
Malik tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carbone smiles and moves away.
Carbone lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Malik fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Carbone forces Malik back against the cage and clinches. Carbone breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Malik closes the distance but Carbone moves to the side and Carbone counters with a one-two to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malik shoots in for a takedown but Carbone shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdul Malik. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carbone stalks Malik and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Malik's face. Malik staggers backwards, shaken. Carbone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Carbone moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Carbone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Malik looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carbone is fending him off so far but Malik persists. Nope, Carbone circles away and we're back to standing. Malik darts in trying to clinch and Carbone counters with a three punch combo that has Malik backing up. Malik nods at Carbone to acknowledge the strikes.
Malik is rocked! Carbone throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Malik looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carbone is fending him off so far but Malik persists. Nope, Carbone circles away and we're back to standing. Malik is breathing heavily. Carbone throws a one two combo.
Oh Malik is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Malik shoots in for a takedown but Carbone shows good takedown defense. Malik seems to have got his legs back now. Carbone lands a right hook to the body.
Carbone misses with a few strikes there.
Malik is looking to clinch but Carbone is avoiding it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carbone misses with the combination.
Malik scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
A shot to the body from Malik misses and Carbone counters with a one-two to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Malik rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carbone moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Malik throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Carbone counters with a nice low kick that buckles Malik's knee momentarily. Malik takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Carbone throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Malik counter with a right hand. Carbone misses with a few strikes there.
Malik throws a combination that misses and Carbone counters with a two punch combo. Malik fails with the takedown. A punch combination from Carbone misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Malik looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pedro Carbone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Malik misses with the body kick and Carbone counters with a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malik fails with the takedown. Malik swings widly with a right hand
and Carbone counters with a three punch combo that has Malik backing up. Malik nods at Carbone to acknowledge the strikes. Malik fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carbone sprawls well initially but Malik persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Carbone is trying to stand back up but Malik is controlling him
Carbone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Malik. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Carbone is staying active underneath Malik, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Malik is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carbone is just riding it out for now. Malik eventually gives up the hold. Carbone wants to get back to his feet.
Malik is pressing down on Carbone's thigh, looking to free his foot. Carbone is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Malik wants to work for an arm triangle but Carbone is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Carbone is trying is best to control the position here. Carbone pushes Malik off looking to stand but Malik dives back in and keeps control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Malik wants to clinch and Carbone counters with a series of strikes. Malik will be more careful next time no doubt. Carbone drives through and clinches with Malik against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carbone pushes Malik back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Malik can't get the takedown.
Carbone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Carbone. No joy for Malik on that attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Malik is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Carbone gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Malik wants to break the clinch but can't.
Malik pulls Carbone into guard.
Malik is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Malik with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Malik is trying to control the action in half guard but Carbone is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Malik is really struggling to control Carbone but he's trying to hold on to the position. Malik tries to pass to full mount but Carbone defends it.

Malik wants to pass the guard but Carbone is defending well. Malik winds up and cracks Carbone with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Malik lands with a punch from half guard. Malik performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Malik thows a huge punch but Carbone dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Malik wants to control but Carbone is keeping him busy. Malik is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Malik not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Malik is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Carbone keeping full guard, as Malik tries to pass. Malik is standing up over Carbone. Carbone looks to escape but Malik dives into side control.
Malik throws a strike aimed at the side of Carbone's head but Carbone avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malik trying to control the position but Carbone is working away. Carbone wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Carbone is breathing heavily. Malik trying to control the position but Carbone is working away.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Carbone throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Malik counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Carbone with a nice cross. Carbone fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Malik slips a jab and a cross from Carbone.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Malik gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carbone counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdul Malik. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carbone looks to clinch and Malik counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carbone won't be happy with that. Carbone tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Malik is standing up, even though he is in mount. Malik misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Malik throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carbone's waist but Carbone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Malik off to one side. Malik changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carbone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Malik is chipping away with strikes.
Malik has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Carbone is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Malik yanks on the arm and Carbone is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Malik.
