Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jin Jin Ipa (ranked 1708 p4p, 184 weight class) and Bogdan Yanovich (ranked 3211 p4p, 327 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Bogdan Yanovich enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jin Jin Ipa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bogdan Yanovich!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yanovich gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ipa to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ipa cracks Yanovich with a solid left hand.
Yanovich looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ipa trying to control the position from guard on top but Yanovich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yanovich can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ipa distracts Yanovich with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yanovich wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Yanovich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ipa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ipa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ipa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Yanovich holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ipa shoots in and gets a takedown into Yanovich's guard.
Ipa has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Ipa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Yanovich's guard.

Yanovich has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ipa is working away from the top position though.

Yanovich is concentrating on defense, preventing Ipa from advancing position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ipa connects with a nice short shot to Yanovich's temple.

Ipa seems to be working for a kimura but Yanovich defends the submission attempt.
Yanovich has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ipa is working away from the top position though.

Ipa is looking for a kimura but Yanovich is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ipa to get the leverage.

Yanovich is staying active underneath Ipa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Yanovich's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Yanovich takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Ipa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yanovich but Yanovich pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Yanovich connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ipa. Ipa circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ipa misses with a takedown attempt - Yanovich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Yanovich wants to counter the offense by Ipa and move into the clinch position.
Yanovich connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Ipa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yanovich sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ipa somewhat.
Ipa goes for a double leg but Yanovich avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Yanovich continues to drive forward.
Ipa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yanovich sprawls well. Yanovich wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ipa gets slowly back to his feet.
