Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Draken Porter! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Porter gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Diaz to score an easy takedown into full guard. Porter wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Diaz manages to pass to side control. Porter tries to get to full guard but Diaz has control of the leg. Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Porter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Porter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Porter tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Diaz has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Diaz working for a submission but Porter is keeping him at bay.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Porter is surviving well by controlling Diaz's body position as best he can. Porter bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Porter trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom. Diaz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Porter is one step ahead there. Porter trying to control the position from guard on top but Diaz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Diaz looking for a sweep. Not yet Diaz, not yet. Diaz is working hard here to advance position.

Porter sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Diaz doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Porter paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Diaz - great work!
