With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caniel Dormier!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dormier shoots in for a takedown but Peters shows good takedown defense.
Dormier changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peters tries to avoid it but Dormier manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peters to the ground. Peters escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Peters scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

As Dormier looks to move away, Peters throws a big counter combo but Dormier just gets out of the way.
Evan Peters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Caniel Dormier.

Dormier darts in looking for a takedown but Peters gets double underhooks and turns Dormier into the cage.
Peters lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dormier's sensitive parts.

Peters displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dormier.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peters tries to clinch but Dormier moves out of range.
Dormier shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Peters sprawls well. Peters wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dormier gets slowly back to his feet.
Peters seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Dormier gets tackled into the cage by Peters. Peters maintains the clinch.

Peters stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Peters wants it to stay on the feet.

Dormier fails with the takedown.
Peters throws a big counter combination but Dormier scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Dormier changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peters looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Peters is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Peters trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Dormier content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Dormier wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peters keeps working.
Peters is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dormier is controlling him well.

Dormier cracks Peters with a big elbow.

Dormier decides to stand back up. Dormier steps back and let's Peters get back to his feet.
Dormier swats away the attempt to clinch by Peters.

Dormier feints and as Peters raises his hands in defense, Dormier changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dormier drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Peters dives on top into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peters got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dormier has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Peters has managed to get both his arms back between Dormier's legs - danger averted.

Peters has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Dormier to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Peters is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Dormier pulls down on the head and he's put Peters to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Caniel Dormier!
