Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chi Chapman (ranked 5924 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Luis (ranked 5984 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chi Chapman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luis Luis! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chapman has closed the distance and engaged Luis in a clinch.
Chapman has hold of one of Luis's legs. Luis is fighting the takedown attempt but Chapman gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Luis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Luis being controlled here, momentarily. Chapman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Luis for as long as he can get away with. Chapman gets to his feet - Luis follows without any prompting. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Luis throws a lazy head kick and Chapman counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Chapman stands up from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luis clinches. Chapman gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Luis regains guard.
Chapman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chapman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Chapman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Luis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Luis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chapman is stalling in the full guard. Chapman stands and steps away. Luis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Luis scores with a head kick. Chapman tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Chapman gets caught napping as Luis dives in and scores a takedown. Chapman manages to retain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Luis wants to stand but Chapman is controlling his posture from full guard. Chapman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Luis defends it easily. Luis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Luis stands up from Chapman's guard - Luis perhaps looking for a knockout. Luis throws a head kick that misses. Luis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chapman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Luis is trying to get an arm triangle but Chapman is defending well. Luis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chapman keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Luis stands up. A chopping leg kick lands by Luis. Chapman blocks a head kick by Luis.
Luis tries a head kick but it misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Luis throws a lazy head kick so Chapman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Chapman stands up from Luis's guard - Chapman perhaps looking for a knockout. Luis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chi Chapman will probably get the nod. That's time! Chapman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Luis throws a sloppy head kick and Chapman moves out of range easily. As Luis tries to get set, Chapman tries to push him back and clinch up but Luis manages to avoid the attempt. Chapman rushes Luis and presses him up against the cage. Luis is trying to break the clinch but Chapman is controlling him. Chapman stalling the fight.
Luis has had enough of the clinch but Chapman keeps him there for the moment. Chapman has clasped his hands together around Luis's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Luis sneaks out the side door and pushes Chapman away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head kick misses from Luis. Chapman is looking for a counter combo. Luis gets tackled into the cage by Chapman. Chapman maintains the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chapman has Luis pressed against the cage, preventing Luis from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Chapman has clasped his hands together around Luis's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Chapman tries for a kimura but Luis is defending well. Chapman content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Chapman wants to control but Luis is keeping him busy. Chi Chapman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Luis can't do much from the bottom here. Chapman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Chapman working the body and head with strikes. Luis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Chapman working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chapman wants to control but Luis is keeping him busy. Chapman is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chapman decides to stand back up. Chapman steps back and let's Luis get back to his feet. Luis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Chapman quickly recovers to half guard. Luis looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Luis tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chapman is looking to improve his position.
Luis wants to work for an arm triangle but Chapman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Chapman is refusing to be controlled, as Luis sits in half guard. Luis wants to stand up but Chapman is controlling the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Luis wants to take a breather but Chapman is having none of it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Luis Luis will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Luis. Luis lands a high kick!
Luis misses with a leg kick and Chapman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Luis throws a sloppy head kick and Chapman moves out of range easily. That's one minute gone in the round. Chapman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Luis, up you get! Luis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Chapman counters with a single leg into guard. Luis didn't expect that. Luis being controlled here, momentarily. Luis is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Chapman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Luis's efforts to push away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Luis has had enough of the clinch but Chapman keeps him there for the moment. Chapman works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Luis has his feet on Chapman's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chapman has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Luis. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Luis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Luis is looking to take a break and control but Chapman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Luis decides to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Luis tries to score with a low kick but Chapman moves his leg out of the way. Chapman clinches. Chapman has Luis pressed against the cage, preventing Luis from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Chapman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Luis's efforts to push away. Luis has had enough of the clinch but Chapman keeps him there for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Luis has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Chapman gets a trip takedown into half guard. Luis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Luis throws a leg kick and Chapman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Luis won't be happy with that. Chapman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Luis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Luis is trying to get back to his feet. Luis bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
And that's the end of the fight! Luis Luis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Luis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
