Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Chicken! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sigmund Erickson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Erickson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Chicken! Chicken bucks up and tries to throw Erickson off but instead Erickson has got his back! Erickson is landing with strikes from the back. Chicken is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Erickson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Erickson lands with a hammerfist to the side of Chicken's head. Erickson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Chicken is defending well though. Erickson let's go of the attempt for now. Good control from Erickson. Erickson cracks Chicken with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Chicken from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
This has been an exciting period of action! Chicken is trying to stand back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Erickson is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Erickson gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Erickson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Erickson apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Michael Chicken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Erickson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Erickson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Erickson not doing much here.
Chicken taking some punishment here, with Erickson in his half guard. Erickson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Erickson connects with a nice short shot to Chicken's temple. Erickson slips a nice elbow through Chicken's hands, connecting with Chicken's forehead. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Erickson in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Erickson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Chicken is in trouble now - Erickson has advanced to mount! Erickson won't let Chicken get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Erickson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Erickson punishing his opponent with strikes. Chicken taking shots to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Erickson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Chicken is bucking up trying to escape but Erickson cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Chicken really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chicken is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Erickson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Chicken can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Erickson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Chicken manages to avoid the submission attempt. Erickson is staying tight to Chicken's torso, preventing him from escaping. Chicken takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. We've been informed that Erickson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Erickson lands a nice forearm strike. Erickson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Erickson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Chicken to see if he's OK. Erickson lands a decent elbow from side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Erickson cracks Chicken with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Chicken is rocked! Erickson working the head with strikes. Oh Chicken is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Erickson looks up at the clock and then as Chicken takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Erickson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Chicken seems comfortable defending it but Erickson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Chicken is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Chicken is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Erickson couldn't care less - he's delighted!
