Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marquis Burns (ranked 6866 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Bonner (ranked 5859 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marquis Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Bonner! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Darius Henderson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bonner throws a combination that misses and Burns counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Burns. Bonner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Bonner wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Burns tries to circle away but Bonner has him pinned against the cage. Burns manages to break the clinch.
Burns gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Burns working for a triangle but Bonner defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bonner slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bonner preventing the sweep. Bonner loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Burns is looking for a triangle but Bonner pushes his legs off easily.
Burns is pulling down on Bonner's head to control his posture. Bonner engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bonner throwing strikes from guard but Burns blocks nicely.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Burns checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Burns seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Bonner has Burns up against the cage in a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Bonner looking to throw knees to the head but Burns is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bonner tightens his grip and picks Burns up, before dumping him to the ground. Burns manages to land in guard. Burns had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bonner defends it easily. Burns is wriggling around but Bonner manages to pass to half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bonner tries to stand and escape but Burns is controlling the position. Burns is trying to maintain the position but Bonner is very close to passing his half guard. Burns wants to get back to full guard. Bonner is just content to waste time from the top position. Burns takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Burns pulls Bonner in close to prevent any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Burns keeping moving, preventing Bonner from controlling successfully. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bonner wants to get back to his feet but Burns is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Bonner has his hands on Burns's head, controlling the position. David Bonner has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Burns has managed to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Burns pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bonner has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Burns slips a jab and a cross from Bonner.
As Bonner tries to get set, Burns tries to push him back and clinch up but Bonner manages to avoid the attempt. Bonner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bonner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Burns throws Bonner to one side and escapes! Burns slips a jab from Bonner. Bonner keeps the fight on the outside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bonner fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burns sprawls well initially but Bonner persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Bonner working over Burns with some ground and pound. Burns looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bonner is stalling here. Burns is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bonner seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Burns has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Bonner struggling a bit here. Bonner trying his best to control but Burns has mounted him. The referee warns Bonner that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bonner is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bonner is breathing heavily. Bonner sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Bonner looking for submissions off his back. Burns is looking to take a break and control but Bonner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bonner wants to control the action here but instead Burns manages to pass to full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marquis Burns dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

As Bonner backs away, Burns returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Burns fails in his attempt to clinch. Bonner looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Burns! Bonner tries to score with some ground and pound. Burns controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. You can see the frustration on Burns's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Burns uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bonner.
Bonner closes the distance and clinches. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Bonner jumps guard and drags Burns to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Bonner is looking to stand back up but Burns counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Bonner. Bonner actively working from the bottom here.

Bonner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Burns not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Burns scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bonner trying to control here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bonner looking for submissions off his back. Bonner is trying to maintain the position but Burns is very close to passing his half guard. Burns lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bonner wants to improve his position but Burns is controlling well.

And that's the end of the fight! David Bonner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Bonner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
