Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Robinson (ranked 4473 p4p, 484 weight class) and Rodrigo Valdez (ranked 8865 p4p, 694 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Valdez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

We've been informed that Valdez has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Robinson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That was a close round but I would say that Brandon Robinson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Valdez lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Valdez.

Robinson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Valdez stacks Robinson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Valdez!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I think Valdez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
