Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elbert Crosby (ranked 24609 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Steel (ranked 24214 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Steel has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Elbert Crosby's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elbert Crosby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chris Steel!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steel moves into the clinch successfully.
Crosby really is a fat lump.

Crosby breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Steel darts in and clinches Crosby up against the cage.
Crosby is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Steel can't get the takedown.
Steel is pressed up against the cage. Crosby has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Steel down to the mat. Steel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Crosby misses with a takedown attempt - Steel sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Steel just misses with a elbow thrown towards Crosby's brow.
Steel is trying to pull guard but Crosby turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Steel jumps into guard, dragging Crosby to the mat.

Crosby decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Steel shoots in for a double leg but Crosby sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Crosby swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Steel closes the distance and pushes Crosby back into the cage.
Steel manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Steel fails to pull guard.

Steel tries to pull guard but Crosby holds him up against the cage and eventually Steel drops back down to his feet.
Steel throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Crosbys head.
Steel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Crosby fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Crosby tries to score a power double leg takedown but Steel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Crosby somewhat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Steel. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Steel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

It looks like Elbert Crosby has been cut.
Steel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crosby sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steel somewhat.
Crosby was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Crosby avoids the head kick by Steel.

Crosby gets to his feet. Steel looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Steel lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Steel shoots in for a takedown but Crosby shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Steel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Steel closes the distance and clinches.
Steel wants to stall.
Steel can't get the takedown.
Elbert Crosby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Steel.

Crosby has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Steel is trying to keep an underhook but Crosby manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Steel pushes Crosby off and gets back to his feet.
Steel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Crosby closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steel circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Steel or perhaps it was just good defense by Crosby, which made it look bad.

Steel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Steel displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Crosby.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Crosby shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Steel sprawls well. Steel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Crosby gets slowly back to his feet.

Well Steel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
