Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caniel Dormier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Swagga Beats! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dormier pushes Beats up against the cage in a clinch. Dormier is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Dormier lands an elbow inside that Beats shrugs off. Dormier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Beats fails to land the takedown. Dormier rushes Beats and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dormier takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Dormier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beats misses with a takedown enabling Dormier to counter with a crisp jab. Dormier misses with an attempted mid kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dormier has Beats pressed against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Dormier will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Beats up against the cage. Dormier seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Caniel Dormier. Beats takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Beats shoots for a double leg takedown but Dormier sprawls well. He's pushed Beats's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Beats wants to get back to full guard. Dormier wants to get back to his feet.

Dormier wants to get up but he can't break Beats's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Beats is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dormier won't allow Beats to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! Caniel Dormier showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dormier, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
