Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Thompson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Silva!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson just misses with a punch to the body.
Thompson avoids the head kick by Silva.
Silva clobbers Thompson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Silva lands with a shot to the body.
Thompson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silva's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Thompson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Silva scrambles back to his feet.
Thompson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Silva scores with the left hand. Thompson knows he should have avoided that one.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thompson manages to avoid it.
Thompson connects with a body shot that sends Silva's belly button to the back.
Silva scores with a one two! Thompson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Matt Thompson has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva throws a shot from downtown. Thompson moves away and avoids it.
Thompson misses the body punch
and Silva counters with a right hand to the body.
Silva takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Antonio Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Silva takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Thompson slips under a jab.
Silva on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Silva misses with a straight left.
Thompson takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses.

Thompson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Thompson.
Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

A slow jab from Silva misses its intended target.

Thompson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Silva moves away.
Thompson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva's hands.

Thompson sizes up Silva with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thompson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Silva. Silva circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thompson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
It looked like Thompson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Silva.
Thompson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Silva clinches up with Thompson and pushes him back against the cage.
Thompson tries to pull guard but Silva won't allow it.
Silva lands a shoulder strike.
Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Thompson throws a shot from downtown. Silva moves away and avoids it.
It seemed like Silva was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Thompson does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Thompson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Silva throws a hook but Thompson blocks it.
Thompson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Silva misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Thompson to counter with a crisp jab.
Silva is rocked!
Silva throws a lazy uppercut
and Thompson counters with a big right hand! Oh Silva is in trouble here! Thompson follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

In his post fight interview, Matt Thompson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
