Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lee Wells! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Blood Red! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Red dives in and grabs Wells's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wells pushes down on Red's head and hops out. Wells is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Red. Wells has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wells there as he acknowledges the shot. Red rushes Wells and presses him up against the cage. Wells wants to get back to striking at distance but Red won't allow it.
Wells really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wells breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Blood Red seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Red shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wells but Wells pushes him off and we're back to square one. Wells is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Red. Nice sprawl there from Wells as Red shoots in. Lee Wells has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Blood Red. Wells goes for a double leg but Red avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Red continues to drive forward. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Red misses with a wild body shot. Red shoots in but Wells avoids the takedown attempt easily. Wells shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Red as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Wells or perhaps it was just good defense by Red, which made it look bad. Wells moves out of range of the body kick. Red looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wells shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Red sprawls well. Red wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wells gets slowly back to his feet. Red closes the distance and pushes Wells back into the cage. Come on Red - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Red tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wells defends well and Red ends up having to push Wells into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Wells shoots in looking for a takedown but Red manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wells's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Red tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Wells goes for a double leg but Red avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Red continues to drive forward. Red shoots in but Wells avoids the takedown attempt easily. Red looks for a takedown but Wells sprawls well. Wells changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wells shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nice body punch from Red. Wells fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Red pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Wells back to the cage. Red follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Lee Wells has been cut. Wells is breathing heavily. Red gets in close and instigates a clinch. Red pulls guard. Red controlling the position. Red has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wells can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Red trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Red is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Wells presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Red can't get the takedown.

Wells shoots in and bounces Red off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Red has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Wells is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Wells breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Red looks for a takedown but Wells sprawls well. Red slaps away a takedown attempt from Wells, before circling back to the center of the mat. Red tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wells defends well and Red ends up having to push Wells into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Wells feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Wells tries to stand but Red is controlling from the bottom. Lee Wells has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Blood Red is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Wells missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Blood Red. Well Red has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
