Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elton Mcpherson (ranked 24571 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Grason (ranked 6092 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Elton Mcpherson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Grason! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grason gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Mcpherson to counter with a crisp jab. Mcpherson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Grason has time to react. Grason takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Grason dives in and grabs Mcpherson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mcpherson pushes down on Grason's head and hops out. Grason closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mcpherson did well to prevent Grason getting side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grason is nestled in close to Mcpherson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ground and pound from Grason. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Grason connects with a nice short shot to Mcpherson's temple. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Grason wants to work for an arm triangle but Mcpherson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Grason drops an elbow to the side of Mcpherson's head. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Grason connects with a nice short shot to Mcpherson's temple. Mcpherson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Grason is on him like a limpet, forcing Mcpherson back against the cage. Grason has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mcpherson uses from the top position. Grason controlling the position. Grason wants to stand but Mcpherson is controlling the position. Mcpherson wants to stand but Grason is controlling his posture from full guard. Grason is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mcpherson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcpherson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Grason wants to improve his position but instead Mcpherson has moved into half guard.
Mcpherson wants to control but Grason is keeping him busy. Grason looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Grason is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mcpherson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mcpherson's back! Grason is hanging on to Mcpherson's back as he tries to escape.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Grason.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mcpherson is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grason is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mcpherson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Mcpherson can't escape the position.
Mcpherson breaks Grason's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Grason has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Grason is controlling Mcpherson's posture. Grason striking off his back. Mcpherson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Grason throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mcpherson escapes and throws Grason's legs to the side, diving into side control! Grason looks winded! Grason manages to work his way to half guard, despite Mcpherson's best efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grason is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mcpherson pulls his head out easily. Mcpherson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Grason with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcpherson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

A close round but Jason Grason will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mcpherson connects with a solid leg kick. Mcpherson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Grason defends well and Mcpherson ends up having to push Grason into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Mcpherson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Grason sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mcpherson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mcpherson has a takedown stuffed. That's one minute gone in the round. Mcpherson tries a low kick but Grason avoids it. Grason is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Grason throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mcpherson's waist but Mcpherson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Grason off to one side. A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcpherson enables Grason to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcpherson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Mcpherson wants to sweep but no luck. Grason drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Grason jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Grason lands a couple of digs. Grason got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mcpherson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Grason has managed to get both his arms back between Mcpherson's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Grason keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mcpherson's head.

Grason thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Grason working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Mcpherson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Grason is one step ahead there. Grason pushes down on Mcpherson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jason Grason showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Mcpherson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Grason drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mcpherson pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mcpherson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Grason pinned against the cage. Grason gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Grason changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Mcpherson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Grason is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Mcpherson lands a jab to Grason's midsection. Mcpherson tries to clinch there but Grason circles away.
Grason shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mcpherson as he jumps to the side. Mcpherson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Grason sprawls and moves away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcpherson lands with a right hand. Grason shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mcpherson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mcpherson fails with the takedown. Elton Mcpherson is winning the standup battle so far. Grason fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcpherson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Grason with the counter takedown but Mcpherson avoids it easily. Mcpherson has managed to clinch.
Mcpherson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Grason avoids it. Knees in the clinch landing for Mcpherson.
Mcpherson lands with a right to the head. Mcpherson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Grason fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Elton Mcpherson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jason Grason is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Grason managing to block the knees to the body from Mcpherson.
And that's the end of the fight! Elton Mcpherson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Grason has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
