Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alberto Wood (ranked 8012 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ichigo Kimura (ranked 7813 p4p, 0 weight class). Ichigo Kimura looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alberto Wood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ichigo Kimura! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Kimura. Those never looked like landing. Wood lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Wood instigates a clinch. Kimura has had enough of the clinch but Wood keeps him there for the moment. Wood stalls. Wood tries to land knees in the clinch but Kimura avoids the damage to the body. Kimura pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kimura throws a sloppy head kick and Wood moves out of range easily. Kimura misses the shot to the body. Wood appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Kimura tries a head kick but it misses.
Wood appears to be looking for a counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wood fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kimura, pushing him back against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Wood manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kimura working hard to break the clinch. Wood tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kimura smiles and moves away.

Wood tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kimura's elbow. Kimura wants the takedown. Wood is fighting it off but Kimura persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wood's guard against the cage. Wood manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Kimura looks winded! Wood has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kimura after a bit of a struggle. Wood jumps into guard, dragging Kimura to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wood has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kimura can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wood wants to stand but Kimura is controlling the position. Kimura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wood swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wood is trying to control the position but Kimura postures up. Wood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wood pulls Kimura in to control the position. Kimura won't allow Wood to get back to his feet. Kimura trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A head kick misses from Wood. Wood defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kimura. Wood drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kimura sprawls and moves away. Wood fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alberto Wood. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kimura shoots in for a takedown but Wood shows good takedown defense. Kimura tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wood sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kimura somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wood moves into range and clinches up with Kimura. Kimura is trying to force a seperation but Wood has the dominant position. Wood leaning against his opponent.

Wood has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kimura is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Wood looking for a takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wood tries to throw a body punch but Kimura avoids it by throwing Wood back against the cage. Kimura is trying to maintain a safe position but Wood gets an underhook and turns Kimura into the cage. Wood wants a takedown but no success here.
Kimura turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kimura manages to end up in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alberto Wood dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kimura gets the takedown into side control. Wood is not content to let Kimura control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wood is trying to control Kimura's posture but Kimura avoids it. Wood pushes Kimura away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kimura gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wood is letting Kimura control him for a moment. Kimura is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kimura throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. You can see the frustration on Wood's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Wood closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wood creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kimura sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Kimura avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Wood. Kimura taking a bit of punishment here - Wood scoring with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wood lands a decent elbow from side control. Kimura parries the strikes from Wood easily there. Wood is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kimura to escape.
Kimura looking for a sweep but Wood has passed into full mount! Oh no! Wood controlling from mount. Wood lands a couple of good shots and Kimura has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Kimura is trying to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kimura keeps trying to improve his position.
Alberto Wood is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
