Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Perry (ranked 8014 p4p, 662 weight class) and Jake Williams (ranked 25532 p4p, 751 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerry Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Williams! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry throws a leg kick that misses. Perry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Williams as he jumps to the side. Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Perry paws at him with a jab and circles away. Perry shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Perry closes the distance and clinches. Perry manages to pull guard.
Perry wants to sweep here but Williams controlling him for the moment. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Williams has eaten all the pies! Perry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perry keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perry throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Williams stopping the sweep attempt from Perry. Williams tries to stand but Perry is controlling from the bottom. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Williams wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Williams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. The fighters circling - Williams throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perry moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Perry changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Perry has been working on his balance at Vinny’s Gym *PFC sponsored gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Williams. Perry closes the distance and clinches. Perry stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perry lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Williams's face as he tries to break the clinch. Perry has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Perry drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Perry. That's going to take a lot out of him. Perry looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Williams prevents the takedown attempt.
Williams drops down looking for an ankle pick but Perry pulls his leg out and moves away.
Perry moves out of range of the body kick. Perry throws a wild body kick that Williams sees coming a mile off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Perry jabs Williams to the body, keeping him at a distance. Williams fails with a takedown attempt. Williams looks for a takedown but Perry sprawls well. Perry throws a head kick that misses. Williams gets caught napping as Perry dives in and scores a takedown. Williams manages to retain guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perry gets to his feet - Williams follows without any prompting. Williams looks winded! Perry fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Perry fails to land the takedown. Perry shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense. Williams tries to close the distance and clinch but Perry swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. It looked like Perry wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Perry will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Williams tries to counter by closing the distance. Perry dives in for a single leg takedown but Williams sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Williams is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perry fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Williams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jerry Perry dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Perry avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Williams tries for a takedown but Perry circles away easily and Perry counters with a series of strikes. Williams will be more careful next time no doubt. Perry throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Perry clinches up against the cage. Williams has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Perry avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Perry decides to pull guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perry has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Williams off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Williams misses with a takedown attempt - Perry sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jerry Perry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Williams. A punch lands to the side of Perry 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams doesn't succeed with the takedown and Perry counters by clinching up. Perry successfully pulls guard.

Perry bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Williams's guard. Williams keeping moving, preventing Perry from controlling successfully. Perry in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Perry forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perry is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is refusing to be controlled, as Perry sits in half guard. Perry wants to pass the guard but Williams is defending well. Perry is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Williams can do to turn this around? Perry moves into full mount! Williams won't be happy about that! Perry is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Williams is surviving well by controlling Perry's body position as best he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Perry looking to ground and pound but Williams is blocking nicely. Perry avoids the attempt from Williams to control. Perry can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape. Williams blocking the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Williams is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perry has managed to clinch.
Perry blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Williams is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Perry to keep the fight standing. Perry breaks the clinch.
Perry clinches. Williams is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Williams is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Perry is defending well. Perry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perry drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Williams wants to get back to his feet but Perry passes into half guard.
Perry takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

A battle for position here, against the cage. Perry jumps guard and drags Williams to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Perry wants to improve his position but instead Williams has moved into half guard.
Perry has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Williams is working away from the top position though. Williams is looking to take a break and control but Perry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perry makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Williams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A head kick misses from Williams. Jerry Perry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Perry tries to land a front kick but Williams steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Williams leaves Perry with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Perry fails to land the takedown. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Perry as he jumps to the side. Perry shoots in looking for a takedown. Williams tries to sprawl out of it but Perry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Williams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Perry fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Williams, pushing him back against the cage. Perry jumps guard and drags Williams to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Perry is retaining full guard. Perry looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Jerry Perry showed his dominance in that final round. Well Perry has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Jerry Perry! After the fight, Jerry Perry was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
