Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Georgy Fokin (ranked 307 p4p, 46 weight class) and Stacker Pentacost (ranked 5351 p4p, 606 weight class). Pentacost has chosen Code Blue Coma/ Downset as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 3 losses; Georgy Fokin! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 1 losses; Stacker Pentacost! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Pentacost darts in and clinches Fokin up against the cage. Fokin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Fokin manages to end up in side control. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fokin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pentacost wants to control but Fokin postures up. Fokin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pentacost tries to improve position but can't.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pentacost for as long as he can get away with. Pentacost is squirming around, avoiding Fokin's attempts to control the action. Fokin working for a submission but Pentacost is keeping him at bay. Fokin wants to control the pace but Pentacost is squirming around nicely.

Fokin controlling from the full mount. Fokin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Pentacost is looking to reverse the position. Fokin is looking to take a break and control but Pentacost is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pentacost seems a little lost for a moment, as Fokin dominates the positioning.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Fokin looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Fokin is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pentacost's shoulder. That is not cool. Fokin taking a break here but Pentacost is having none of it and regains half guard. Fokin is taking a breather. Pentacost says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Fokin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Pentacost is staying active underneath Fokin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Fokin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Fokin wants to free his trapped foot but Pentacost is holding on for dear life with his legs. Fokin with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Fokin trying to mount his opponent but Pentacost defends it.

Fokin trying to control the position but Pentacost is working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pentacost seems a little lost for a moment, as Fokin dominates the positioning.
And that's the end of the fight! Fokin takes the fight on points by 9 to 0. Georgy Fokin is the new light heavyweight champion! A relieved looking Georgy Fokin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
