The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Domi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Almerson manages to avoid it.
Domi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Domi just misses with a punch to the body.
Domi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Almerson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Domi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Almerson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Domi.
Almerson tries to clinch there but Domi circles away.
Almerson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Domi's waist but Domi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Almerson off to one side.
Domi throws a series of punches but Almerson avoids them all with ease.
Domi lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Almerson sprawling to the canvas. Domi follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Almerson hang on?
Almerson is looking to control Domi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Almerson avoid being mounted?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Almerson is trying to maintain the position but Domi is very close to passing his half guard.
Almerson tries to roll over but Domi keeps him under control.
Domi tries to pass to full mount but Almerson defends it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Almerson slips a jab from Domi.
Almerson ducks right into an uppercut from Domi.
Almerson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Domi tries to avoid it but Almerson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Domi to the ground. Domi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Almerson rushes Domi and presses him up against the cage.
Almerson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Tie Domi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Almerson.
Almerson keeps control of Domi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Almerson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Domi blocks an elbow strike.
Almerson fails to pull guard.
Domi is trying to break the clinch but Almerson has him pressed against the cage.
Domi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tie Domi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Domi connects with a body shot.
Almerson looks gassed!

Almerson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nice combo by Domi! Oh, that's hurt him - Almerson falls to the canvas and Domi follows him into side control.

Domi wants to control but Almerson is keeping him busy.
Domi lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Almerson is still in real trouble! Can Domi finish him?
Domi tries to advance to mount but can't.
Almerson seems to have recovered his senses.
Domi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Almerson keeps working.

Domi lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Domi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Almerson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Domi is looking to wear down Almerson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Domi fails with a takedown attempt.
Almerson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Domi counters with a left hand that sends Almerson to the canvas!
It looks like Jimmy Almerson has been cut.
Domi wants to pass the guard but Almerson is keeping the position.

Domi wants to control from the top but Almerson keeps moving.
Domi distracts Almerson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Domi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Almerson's guard.

Domi winds up and cracks Almerson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Domi is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

BOOM! Domi connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Domi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Domi fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Domi has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Almerson's face.

Domi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Almerson is looking to escape.

Domi postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Almerson in real trouble here! The ref calls for Almerson to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
