Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rampant Disease (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jose Aldo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rampant Disease! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Aldo! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Aldo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Aldo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Disease keeping moving, preventing Aldo from controlling successfully. Disease working for a triangle but Aldo defends it easily.
Aldo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Disease swivels though and keeps the full guard. Aldo won't allow Disease to get back to his feet. Aldo wants to pass the guard but Disease is keeping the position. Disease looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Aldo shoots in and drives through. Disease sprawls well. Disease feints and as Aldo raises his hands in defense, Disease changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Disease is looking to stand up but Aldo won't let him. Disease gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Disease with a lazy takedown attempt and Aldo counters with a nice double leg into guard. Disease is breathing heavily. Disease looking to hit a scissor sweep but Aldo is one step ahead there. Aldo advances position into side control! Aldo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Aldo trying to control the position but Disease is working away. Aldo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aldo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aldo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Disease regains half guard. Disease punching from the bottom.
Disease is staying active underneath Aldo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Aldo is trying to work for a kimura but Disease is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aldo slows the pace down in half guard. Disease has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aldo is working away from the top position though. Disease blocking the ground and pound attempt from Aldo. Disease is controlling Aldo's trapped leg to prevent Aldo from advancing to side control. Aldo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Disease knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Aldo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aldo trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Disease manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Disease knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aldo on the ground. Aldo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Aldo looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Disease passes into half guard.
Disease works his foot free and advances to mount. Disease throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Aldo because Disease loaded up on that one. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Aldo is trying desperately to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jose Aldo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Aldo takes the fight into the clinch. Aldo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Disease pulls his leg out and moves away.
Disease shoots for a double leg takedown but Aldo sprawls well. He's pushed Disease's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Aldo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Disease decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Aldo's guard. Disease has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Aldo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Disease pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Aldo is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aldo keeping moving, preventing Disease from controlling successfully. Aldo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Aldo seems content to control. Disease tries to get to full guard but Aldo has control of the leg. Aldo seems to be working for a kimura but Disease defends the submission attempt. Disease wants to get back to his feet.
Disease is looking to improve his position.
Aldo not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Aldo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Disease doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aldo. Aldo wants to free his trapped foot but Disease is holding on for dear life with his legs. Disease is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Aldo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Disease! Aldo thowing shots but they're missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aldo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Disease has left one of his arms exposed and Aldo doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Disease screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
