Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Impala (ranked 3825 p4p, 397 weight class) and Cyrius Python (ranked 4134 p4p, 429 weight class). Impala comes to the cage accompanied by Ambitions of a ridah. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gunnar Impala! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Cyrius Python! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Impala shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Python manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Impala trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Python looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Our spies down at at Tycoon Gym inform us that Python has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Impala throwing strikes from guard but Python blocks nicely. Impala with a flurry of punches that miss. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Impala accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Python working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Impala. Impala preventing the sweep. Impala slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Python tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Impala wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Python is still trying to improve position. Impala tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Python is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's one minute gone in the round. Python tries to roll over but Impala keeps him under control. Python keeps trying to improve his position. Python looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Impala is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Impala working the head and body with strikes. Python works his way to full guard. Good work. Python is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Python is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Impala throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Python seems keen to control Impala's posture. Impala has gone for a leg lock! Python slips out almost immediately though and dives into Impala's guard. Python trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Python working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Python lands a couple of elbows. Impala knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Python on the ground. Impala can't keep his opponent in guard - Python advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Impala looking for submissions off his back. Python has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Impala defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Python. Impala holds on, trying desperately to control. Python thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Python can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Impala is looking to escape. Python goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Impala turns into him and now he's in Python's guard.
Impala got a little sloppy there for a moment and Python has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Impala has managed to get both his arms back between Python's legs - danger averted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Impala postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Python is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Impala, into his guard. Impala trying to keep a closed guard but Python is proving a slippery customer.

Python thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cyrius Python dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Python shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Impala defends it nicely. Impala looking to score a takedown here. Python is defending well but Impala drives through and ends up in Python's guard. Impala is looking to work some ground and pound but Python has wrist control. Python looking to hit a scissor sweep but Impala is one step ahead there. Python is looking for a triangle but Impala pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Impala keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Python's head. Python looking for a guillotine here but Impala defends easily.
Cyrius Python has got the better of the ground game so far. Python will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Impala has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Python can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Python sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Impala's guard.

Python working over Impala with some ground and pound. Impala looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Python scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Python is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Python is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Impala doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Python. Impala is trying to control but can't.

Python lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Impala escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Python gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Impala keeping moving, preventing Python from controlling successfully. Python has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Python is working Impala over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Python lands a couple of decent looking shots. Impala avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Impala looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Cyrius Python showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Python dives in and grabs Impala's left leg, looking for a takedown. Impala pushes down on Python's head and hops out. Impala closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Python throws Impala to one side and escapes! Python gets a clinch. Python has Impala pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Impala manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Impala is trying to drag Python to the mat but Python just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Python breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Python. Gunnar Impala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cyrius Python. Python takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. No luck with that takedown attempt from Python.
That's one minute gone in the round. Impala looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Impala lands a couple of elbows. Impala chips away with some ground and pound. Impala preventing the sweep. Impala with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Python is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Python is working for a kimura but Impala is defending it quite comfortably.
Impala is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Impala has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Python is working away from the top position though. Impala is looking to escape. Impala is looking to control Python's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Impala avoid being mounted? Python working Impala over with strikes. Python maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Impala could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Python has cracked it and Impala is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Python!
