Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Cox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ethan Carter Williams! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox gets tackled into the cage by Williams. Williams maintains the clinch. Williams looks to throw an elbow but misses. Williams is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cox can't fight it off and eventually Williams manages to take the fight to the floor. Cox looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Williams controlling from the top position. Williams pushing down on Cox's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Cox is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at School of Hard Knocks, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Williams controlling the action here. Williams's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cox wants to improve his position but Williams is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. More stalling from Williams. Cox wants to get back to his feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Williams is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Williams clinches up with Cox and pushes him back against the cage. Williams is trying to drag Cox to the mat but Cox just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Cox has a couple of punches blocked by Williams.
Williams is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Williams lands a shot to the body. A quick uppercut on the inside from Williams. Williams gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Cox regains guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cox is breathing heavily. Cox working for submissions but it's allowed Williams to get to half guard.
Well, if Williams is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Williams moves to back control. Williams really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Cox. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cox tries to break free.

John Cox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ethan Carter Williams. Williams prevents Cox from breaking the clinch. Williams wants a takedown but no success here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Williams changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cox fights it off and pushes away nicely.

He can't get it on this occasion though. Williams is trying to trip Cox. He has hold of a leg but Cox is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Williams persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Williams controlling from the top position. Let's hope that Williams has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Williams postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Cox wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Williams manages to pass to side control. Williams not doing much here.
Williams uses his free foot to push down on Cox's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Cox.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams controlling from mount. Ethan Carter Williams has got the better of the ground game so far. Williams has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Williams takes Cox's back. Williams biding his time, controlling Cox. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Williams. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Williams looking for the choke but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams controlling from the back. Williams looking for the choke from the back. A bit of a pause in the action here. Williams controlling the positon. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ethan Carter Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Cox doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Williams moves into the clinch. Williams lands with a left to the head. Ethan Carter Williams seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Williams working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Williams is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cox gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Williams scores with a nice hook to the head. Williams has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cox avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Cox tries to break the clinch but Williams is controlling the position. Cox is trying to break the clinch but Williams has him pressed against the cage. Williams drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

A frustrated look appears on Cox's face as he tries to break the clinch. Williams lands an elbow that stopped Cox in his tracks for a moment.

A head punch on the inside from Cox fails to land. Williams has Cox pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Williams pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cox tumbling to the mat - Williams dives into Cox's guard. Cox is wriggling around but Williams manages to pass to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is continuing to stall. Williams has control of Cox's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Cox regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Cox has given up his back here. Will Williams look for the submission or keep pounding away?
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

And that's the end of the fight! Ethan Carter Williams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Williams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
