PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Gogh (ranked 6008 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Askren (ranked 6129 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gogh throws the left hand but Askren avoids the punch easily.
Gogh fails to land the takedown.
And Askren tries to counter it with a takedown but Gogh pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Gogh dives in and grabs Askren's left leg, looking for a takedown. Askren pushes down on Gogh's head and hops out.
Gogh throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Askren sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Askren keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vicente Gogh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Askren enables Gogh to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Askren manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Gogh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Askren tries to avoid it but Gogh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Askren to the ground. Askren escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gogh is staying active underneath Askren, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well Askren has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
