Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between L Manning Hines (ranked 3949 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasile Vasla (ranked 3811 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasile Vasla told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, L Manning Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vasile Vasla!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hines slaps away a takedown attempt from Vasla, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hines seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Hines shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vasla napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Vasla can't do much from the bottom here.

Hines is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vasla has escaped the position, nice work there.
Vasla wants to control but Hines postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hines looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hines has control of an arm but Vasla manages to advance to Hines's back!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hines is in bad spot here.
Hines turns into Vasla and is now in his guard.

Hines is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vasla is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vasla has escaped and now he's on top!

Vasla wanted to stand there but Hines had control of the position.
Vasla wants to control from the top but Hines keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vasla must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Vasla preventing the sweep.
Hines working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vasla.
Vasla not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hines bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vasla's guard.


Hines drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Hines as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Vasla screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Hines! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). L Manning Hines!
Our winner, L Manning Hines, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
