Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Tessier (ranked 3988 p4p, 475 weight class) and JaMaine Jones (ranked 24283 p4p, 776 weight class). Jones has chosen Night Train- Guns n Roses as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jones's coach down at Nuclear Physiques was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jones's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Tessier ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Tessier pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tessier backing away here, and Jones unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Jones throws a series of punches but Tessier avoids them all with ease.
JaMaine Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That kick from Tessier tenderised Jones's leg. Jones is trying to keep his angry face on.

Tessier uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones.
We've been hearing reports that Tessier has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Jones stuns Tessier with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Jones lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jones throws a nice looking combination but Tessier bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tessier quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Tessier throws out a loose jab but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jones lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Tessier drives through and clinches with Jones against the cage.
Tessier keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.

Jones is looking to break free of the clinch but Tessier has double underhooks.
Tessier lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
It looks like JaMaine Jones has been cut.
Jones wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Tessier lands an elbow just above Jones 's eye.
Tessier scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Tessier keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Tessier just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jones's brow.
Tessier lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Jones is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Tessier using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jones has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Tessier throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Tessier gets through Jones's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Jones is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Tessier.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tessier blocks it with crossed arms.
Tessier gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jones regains guard.
Tessier in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tessier passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Tessier thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jones is trying to get back to half guard.

Tessier throwing strikes but Jones manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Tessier gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jones wants to stand up but Tessier has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Tessier regains full guard. Nicely done.
Tessier had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
Tessier is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Jones frees his head nicely. Oh but Tessier has switched to an armbar! Jones is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
