Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Burnley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rikkard Hanson! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burnley moves away. Burnley throws an off balance right hand
enabling Hanson to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Adam Burnley has been cut. Burnley lands with a straight right. Hanson didn't see that one coming. We've been told by Burnley's head coaches at Double XX that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Burnley misses with a looping left. Hanson scores with a jab to the head.
Hanson throws a jab but it's blocked by Burnley. A swing and a miss from Burnley. Hanson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Burnley digs a good body shot into Hanson's ribs. Hanson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Burnley! Burnley wants to get back to his feet but Hanson is dominant here and he's now got Burnley's back! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hanson keeps control of the position easily here as Burnley tries to buck him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Can Burnley hold on?! Hanson is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Hanson controls the action. Even with his hooks in, Hanson manages to miss with strikes from the back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hanson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
