Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Monte Casanova (ranked 5573 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Askren (ranked 5803 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Monte Casanova!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jean Askren!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

enabling Askren to counter with a crisp jab.

Casanova tries to score a power double leg takedown but Askren sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Casanova somewhat.

Casanova throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Askren's waist but Askren gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Casanova off to one side.
Askren lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Askren throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Casanova stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
