Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robledo Puch (ranked 751 p4p, 91 weight class) and Boris Zhivago (ranked 1252 p4p, 155 weight class). Puch comes into the arena with Breathe blaring out of the sound system. Zhivago has chosen Cold as Ice as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Puch is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zhivago. Zhivago throws a wild body kick that Puch sees coming a mile off. Puch drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Puch fails to land a wild elbow strike.

The strikes coming from Puch are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Puch trying to control the action but Zhivago is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zhivago is trying to control Puch's posture but Puch avoids it. Puch cracks Zhivago with a big right hand but Zhivago just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Zhivago tries to control but Puch wriggling away. Puch has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Puch is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zhivago avoids the attempt from Puch to control. Puch is looking to get to half guard. Puch wants to hold on but Zhivago pushes him away. Puch tries to reverse the position but Zhivago maintains control. Zhivago controlling from mount. Zhivago prevents Puch from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robledo Puch dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Puch slips under a jab. Puch attempts a counter takedown but Zhivago avoids it well and moves away. Puch throws an overhand right that lands on Zhivago's shoulder, as Zhivago tries to avoid the shot. Puch misses with a hook. Zhivago takes a swing at Puch's ribcage but misses. Zhivago lands a body shot.
Zhivago feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Puch's calf. Puch missing with a left hand there. Zhivago was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zhivago tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Puch is able to avoid easily. Puch comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Puch displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Zhivago throws out the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Puch scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Puch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zhivago can do to turn this around? Zhivago takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Zhivago tries to buck Puch off but Puch is having none of it. Puch in side control, throwing shots but Zhivago defends. Puch connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Zhivago some visible discomfort.

The ground and pound from Puch seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Puch scores with punches from side control. Who's going to make the next move? Zhivago takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Puch looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Zhivago is working to avoid the ground and pound but Puch connects with a decent elbow. Puch fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Zhivago is holding Puch down, trying to stall. Puch working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zhivago has one of Puch's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Puch wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zhivago keeps working. Puch tries for a kimura but Zhivago is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Puch working the body and head with strikes. Zhivago tries to get back to half guard but can't. Puch in side control lands a decent elbow. Zhivago taking punishment in the form of punches.
Zhivago wants to control but Puch postures up. Puch misses with the ground and pound. Puch laying and praying for a moment but Zhivago takes advantage and regains half guard. Robledo Puch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Puch takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Puch missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Puch trying to mount his opponent but Zhivago defends it. Zhivago tries to roll over but Puch keeps him under control. Nice strikes from Puch there. Zhivago is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Nice strikes from Puch there. Puch working Zhivago over with strikes. Puch throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Puch working over Zhivago with some ground and pound. Zhivago looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Zhivago is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robledo Puch dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Puch misses with a wild body shot. A low kick from Zhivago is predictable there and Puch counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Zhivago keeping hold of Puch's head, controlling as best he can. Puch not landing any meaningful shots this time. Puch is nestled in close to Zhivago, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Puch scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Boris Zhivago has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Puch seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Zhivago is rocked! Puch wants to free his trapped foot but Zhivago is holding on for dear life with his legs. Zhivago is still in real trouble! Can Puch finish him? Puch lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Zhivago! More strikes land and this one is all over! Puch jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
