0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paulo Magalhaes! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Magalhaes avoids the head kick by Romero.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Magalhaes. Romero lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Romero really is a fat lump. Romero tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Magalhaes is looking for the big counter here. Romero lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Paulo Magalhaes has been cut. Magalhaes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Romero on his heels. He'll look to pass Romero's guard now, I'm sure. The fighters are working up against the cage. Romero manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Romero breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Magalhaes looks for a takedown but Romero sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero thumps Magalhaes with a low kick. Magalhaes takes one to the chin there. Magalhaes fails with the takedown and Romero counters with a nice double leg into guard. Vincent Romero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Magalhaes. Romero postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Magalhaes has momentary wrist control but Romero slips an elbow through the middle. Romero is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Romero chips away with some ground and pound.

Romero stands up and waves to Magalhaes to follow him. Romero shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Magalhaes's guard. Magalhaes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Romero stacks Magalhaes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Romero! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Magalhaes shoots in looking for a takedown. Romero tries to sprawl out of it but Magalhaes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Romero manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Romero throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Romero wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Magalhaes gets slowly back to his feet. Romero throws a big counter combination but Magalhaes scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Vincent Romero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Magalhaes. Magalhaes has a takedown stuffed. Magalhaes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Vincent Romero overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

He's simply no match for Magalhaes on the ground. Romero regains full guard. Nicely done. Magalhaes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Romero wants to stand but Magalhaes has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Romero prevents Magalhaes from improving his position. Romero takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Magalhaes enables Romero to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Magalhaes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Magalhaes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Romero is aware though and is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero sitting in guard, not really doing much. Romero connects with a couple of short punches. Magalhaes managing to control the position. Magalhaes tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Romero slips a nice elbow through Magalhaes's hands, connecting with Magalhaes's forehead. Paulo Magalhaes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vincent Romero is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Magalhaes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Vincent Romero showed his dominance in that final round. Well Romero has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
