Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rene Conway (ranked 7537 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Ross (ranked 6146 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob Ross will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rene Conway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Ross!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conway uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ross.
Bob Ross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Conway clinches up with Ross and pushes him back against the cage.

Ross pulls Conway into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ross tries to strike from the bottom.
Ross avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ross is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Conway got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ross has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Conway has managed to get both his arms back between Ross's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conway postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Ross is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Conway takes a jab right on the kisser.

Conway has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ross goes for a takedown in the clinch but Conway prevents it.
Ross stalling.
Conway really is a fat lump.
Conway wants a takedown but no success here.

Ross pulls guard.
Conway won't allow Ross to sweep him here.
Ross is looking to stand up but Conway isn't so interested in that idea.

Conway gets to his feet - Ross follows without any prompting.

Ross moves into the clinch successfully.

Conway tightens his grip and picks Ross up, before dumping him to the ground. Ross manages to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ross isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Conway stacks Ross on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Conway!
Ross manages to get back to half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ross is trying to stand.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Conway lands a nice short elbow.

Ross is defending against the submission attempts here by Conway.
Ross wants to control but Conway is keeping busy.
Conway thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Conway winds up and cracks Ross with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Conway trying to control from half guard but Ross is working away.
Conway is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ross is trying to stand back up but Conway is controlling him
Ross is trying to get back to full guard.
Ross pushes Conway off looking to stand but Conway dives back in and keeps control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ross fails with a takedown attempt.
Conway was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Conway pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ross drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Conway defends it well.

Conway gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rene Conway dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Conway keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rene Conway is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ross pushes Conway up against the cage in a clinch.
Conway is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ross gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Ross has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Conway regains guard immediately.

Conway might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Conway holds on and takes a little breather.

Conway bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ross's guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Conway cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Conway can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ross is looking to escape.
Conway has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ross is trying to escape the mount.
Conway lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ross hang on?
Conway lands a couple of good shots and Ross has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Ross is really stuck here.
Ross trying to control the position but Conway manages to sink in the hooks.
Ross is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Conway doesn't have the hooks in and Ross manages to turn into his guard.
Conway looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ross is one step ahead there.
Conway is adopting a defensive guard.

Ross throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ross slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ross is fighting to break Conway's control of his arms but Conway is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Ross has managed to clinch.
Conway has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ross avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Conway wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ross has him pressed against the cage.

Conway has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Ross is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Conway is working for takedown but Ross is calmly controlling the position for now.

Ross tries to bum rush Conway with a series of wild strikes but Conway uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Conway throws a counter high kick but Ross was just alert enough to avoid it.

Conway tries to score a body lock takedown but Ross shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Ross stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Conway has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ross is trying to keep an underhook but Conway manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Ross might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Conway haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Ross sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Conway wants to take a breather but Ross is having none of it.

Bob Ross comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Conway has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
