Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evan Payton (ranked 1663 p4p, 227 weight class) and Kai Kha (ranked 2018 p4p, 267 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Payton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kai Kha!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kha does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Payton rushes Kha and presses him up against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Kha.
Payton has Kha pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Payton pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kha tumbling to the mat - Payton dives into Kha's guard.
Payton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Payton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Payton passes Kha's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Payton is trying to work for a kimura but Kha is defending well.

Kha has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Payton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kha does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Payton is working for a submission of some sort.
Kha tries to get to full guard but Payton has control of the leg.
Payton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kha keeps working.
Payton prevents Kha from improving his position.
Payton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Kai Kha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Payton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A nice side step and Kha releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Payton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kha.
Payton changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Payton moves into the clinch.
Payton has Kha pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kha manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Kha's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kha scores with a jab to the head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Payton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Payton is defended easily by Kha.

Payton lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Kai Kha has been cut.
Payton motions for Kha to come forward. Payton throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Payton moves in looking to clinch but Kha pushes him off.
Kha feints the counter takedown.
Nice uppercut there from Payton.
Kha drops his hands momentarily and Payton takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kha tries to move into range but Payton moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Kha buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Payton closes the distance and pushes Kha back into the cage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Payton tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kha prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan Payton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kha is looking to control Payton's arms but Payton gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kha has his back to the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Evan Payton dominated that round.

Payton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Payton showed some decent athleticism there.
Payton is pressing down on Kha's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kha is holding on for now.

Payton is just content to waste time from the top position. Kha takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Kha controls Payton momentarily but Payton frees himself.

Payton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kha can do to turn this around?

Kha cracks Payton with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Payton wants to clinch but Kha slips to the side
and Kha counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Payton takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kha sends Payton crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Kha is motioning to the referee to let Payton up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Payton is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
