Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lee Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Grove Pathak!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells shoots for a takedown but Pathak saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Grove Pathak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pathak looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Pathak fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wells manages to avoid it.
Wells misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pathak lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Pathak has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Wells tries for a takedown but Pathak circles away easily
and Pathak makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Wells. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pathak scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Wells sneaks out the side door and pushes Pathak away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pathak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wells sprawls well. Wells wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pathak gets slowly back to his feet.
Wells tries to counter with a takedown but Pathak is quick to defend against it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wells shoots in and drives through. Pathak sprawls well.
Pathak tries to close the distance and clinch but Wells swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wells fails with the takedown.

Wells darts in and clinches Pathak up against the cage.
Come on Wells - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Wells tries to pull guard but Pathak won't allow it.
Pathak wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pathak tries to stall but Wells uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Wells ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Wells no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Pathak is sitting in close to Wells's body. Wells has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Pathak is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Pathak is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Wells.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Lee Wells!
