Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Petr Knize!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Knize closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Finch's guard.
Finch wants to sweep but no luck.

Finch scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Finch gets caught flat footed, as Knize shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Knize trying to control but Finch is working from the bottom.
Finch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Knize manages to get himself to full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Finch holds on and takes a little breather.

Finch pulls Knize in close to his closed guard and prevents Knize from doing any damage or advancing position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Knize trying to control the position from guard on top but Finch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Finch wants to sweep here but Knize controlling him for the moment.
Finch is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Knize manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Finch on his heels. He'll look to pass Finch's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Knize throws a head kick but Finch moves out of range.

Finch moves into range and clinches up with Knize.

Finch has picked Knize up - he's going for a ride! Finch dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Knize kicks off Finch and gets to his feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Knize drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Finch dives on top into guard.

Finch's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Finch makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Finch working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Knize's head.
Finch not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Knize working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Finch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Knize is tightening it up a little... Finch has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Finch reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Finch taps out! Nice BJJ there by Knize!
