Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dewayne Sykes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jupiter Jones!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sykes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sykes throws a head kick that misses.

Jones gets the takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sykes to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sykes enables Jones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sykes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Sykes is keeping the position.

Jones clinches up with Sykes and pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sykes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jones to keep the fight standing.

Sykes pulls guard effortlessly.
Sykes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jones decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sykes, up you get!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sykes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Sykes is trying to work for a sweep but Jones has mounted him!
Sykes is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.

Jones is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sykes has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sykes!

Sykes gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sykes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Sykes keeps moving.
Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Sykes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Sykes stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jones swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Sykes is looking for a counter combo.

Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sykes wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Jones is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jupiter Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sykes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sykes's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sykes darts in looking for a takedown but Jones gets double underhooks and turns Sykes into the cage.

Sykes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jones gets the takedown into side control.
Sykes tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Jupiter Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
