And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Sunday!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sunday slips under a jab from Wooden.
Sunday scores with a hook.
Wooden uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sunday.
Sunday throws a looping overhand right but Wooden ducks down to avoid it.
Wooden throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sunday has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Wooden is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Wooden misses with a lunging right hand
and Sunday cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sunday moves out of range as Wooden strikes.
Sunday lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Sunday looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It looked like Wooden was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Sunday.
Wooden misses with a straight left.
Sunday uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wooden.
The fighters circling - Sunday throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wooden throws an overhand right that lands on Sunday's shoulder, as Sunday tries to avoid the shot.

and Sunday counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
William Wooden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sunday! But no joy.
Wooden ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sunday moves away.

Sunday is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wooden.

Sunday throws a hook to the side of Wooden's head but Wooden sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sunday might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Wooden shoots in for a double leg but Sunday sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sunday darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Wooden displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sunday throws out the jab.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sunday. Wooden does a little dance to reset his feet.

Mike Sunday is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sunday sizes up Wooden with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Wooden with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sunday to score with a decent uppercut.
